Enamel Repair Day

At supper yesterday I felt something odd happening on my teeth. It felt like one of them rotated 90 degrees. This was just after I had eaten a date and discovered it had a pit. Today I went to the dentist and they said that a big chunk of enamel had fallen off and the sensation of the enamel chunk in my mouth must have rotated. After some exam work the dentist said it looked like the nerve was still active and that the damage didn't go into the gum. So she put some protective material near the nerve and then put in artficial enamel. After it hardened, she filed it down. It took about an hour and cost about $570. Probably total insurance reimbursements will be about $150-$200 based on past experience.

Question Answered Without Being Asked

A few days ago, I went to a restaurant and lit the flames, etc. and then came home. About an hour later I received a call from the restaurant, I answered the phone by saying, "Did I leave anything in the shop this morning?" Then I heard laughter. It turned out that the call from the restaurant was because the oversight rabbi was there and wanted me to verify that I had come in that day. So my 'answer' to the phone ring actually answered the question. ...................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................... Carrot Chewing Varmint

That's what Yosemite Sam called them (click to enlarge image). Actually at this point in the season, my flowing plants are mostly too tall for Rabbits to chew. I have noticed that in mid summer they nibble on clover and dandelion flowers. This chewing doesn't bother me much. ............................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................. However, the animal repellant is supposed to keep rabbits away as well as deer (the latter being a far bigger threat).

Salsa Experiment

It is now June and one of the things I like to eat during the hot weather is salsa with corn chips. I was having some difficulty finding kosher commercial salsa so I made some home made salsa. Last week I found some ($2.29/bottle) kosher salsa that was the Harris Teeter store brand. I had one of the health helpers taste the two and she liked my homemade better than the Harris Teeter brand. I used a bit of soy sauce in the home made salsa to even out any bitterness. ........................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................... I didn't tell the taster which was the home made and which the store brand.

Yes I Found the Car Seat from Last Year

In preparation for Tamar, Oz and Meira visiting us in September, Tamar asked me if we still had the car seat we used previously. I went downstairs and found it. Then she asked if it was past its date of use. I went downstair again and found that the seat was made in 2022 and that the manufacturer had a note on the device "Do Not Use After Ten Year From Date of Manufacturing" .................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................. I sent an email back to Tamar saying, "Looks like we have a cushion (heh)"
