A Dream about a High Paid Job with little work - and I didn't like it

I dreamt that I was the executive comic and had a staff of comic writers. We were writing for a talk/variety show with the host as RuPaul and the sidekick was Regis Philbin (yes I know he died in 2020 and he was usually the host of his own show and not the sidekick but it is a dream). My job was to look at the jokes the writers came up with and choose a few dozen for the show. I then would give them to a tech who, I suppose, put them in a teleprompter. I think was being paid $10k or so a week. .............................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................. I seem to remember my dreams lately. Perhaps it is because I started taking a little bit of diphenhydramine before bed.

Tire Pressure Story

Last week I began getting 'low tire pressure' indications on my dashboard. One indicator takes the space normally used to tell me how far I've gone since the recent 'reset' of mileage. Another is the symbol shown to the left which is on the dashboard area behind the steering wheel. I didn't put air in that day and for several days after because it was so cold outside but today was in the mid 40s at noon and I found a station with a working air pressure pump (which cost 75 cents as opposed to the previous time I had to use one where it cost $1). ............................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................... During the week, the pressure in that tire varied from about 26 to 28 (#/SQ IN) and the recommended pressure was 32 so I don't think much damage was done.

Odd pre storm buying panic

I was shopping at Harris Teeter on Thursday 18 January (finally remembered to post it). The forecast on Thursday was for an inch or so of snow for Friday. In the past a forecast for substantial snow 4"+ frequently led to panic buying of bath tissue, milk and bread. But that wasn't what I found at the store on Thursday. ................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................... There was plenty of bath tissue, milk and bread but all the Persian cukes and Hothouse cukes were gone and I got the last bunch of regular celery (there was plenty of organic celery still available). Image is not at Harris Teeter because I forgot to take a picture there. It was taken in Houston at a Whole Foods store.

More Snow

We had more snow than expected. The forecast late last night was for 1-2" and we are going to have about 5" when it stops later today (which prompted a winter storm warning about 4am today). Nightmare - Lost my cell phone and dreamed that I fell asleep

In my dream I was at a desk and a supervisor said that I had a secret mission. I would be delivering a secret message to someone but would have to leave my cell phone at the office. I took the metrorail to the delivery point but dreamt that I fell asleep on the way and missed my stop. .................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................... I think I have dreamed of falling asleep before but can't remember anything specific.

Snow at last

The whole east coast has been in a snow drought for two years. Yesterday and last night combined to break the drought in many places. For example, 4.1" at DCA, 4.4" at IAD and 4.9" at BWI. The both images are from the Capital Weather Gang website. The first by someone who identifies as Davides81 and the second by Ian Livingston. ................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................... If you look back at this blog, you will see that at our house we had snow on December 11 but none of the airports noted above had more than 1", e.g., DCA had 0.1".

Will WD-40 Save the Lock

Yesterday, I arrived at the caterer at about 650am to open it. The key wouldn't open the lock. After trying for a while, I had the assistant cooks try their luck. No success. I ended up calling building management who opened it from the inside. So I ended up starting work at about 720am. Later that day building management came back, took the lock off and applied several doses of WD-40. Supposedly, the key now works. .................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................... I'm on duty again tomorrow 7am to 2pm so we'll see if it continues to work.

I dreamed I was in trouble but without fault

I dreamt I was invited on a boat as a special guest and given a premiere cabin. I was settling in to the cabin and got up to see if there was anything in the refrigerator. In the kitchen was the ship logbook. I opened it and in a few minutes some of the ship personnel came in to see if I was comfortable. ................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................... They saw that I had the logbook and asked me why I would steal it. I was about to tell them it was in the cabin when I got there when I woke up.

Oz helps the economy and in space

Both images from Israel. In first image, Oz is helping unload and display vegetables. The first is a volunteer "help the economy by substituting for people in the army" and the second is from his gan where the kids asked the gananit (supervising teacher/manager) to go to space.
